International Quilt Study Center & Museum

Today I am writing to you from Lincon, NE.  My "day" job as a legal software consultant brought me to Lincoln this week for our annual software forum.  Little did I know Lincoln is also the home of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum.  I am hoping for a few extra minutes to run over and take a look.  This looks like an amazing place and I wish I had more time to spend here.  If you are in Lincoln, NE stop out and check it out.  Otherwise, take a look at their website.  http://www.quiltstudy.org/

Mark Lipinski's Winter's Grace Collection 2

So I got the Celebrate wallhanging finished.  Check out the pictures from start to finish.

First, I cut out and appliqued the blocks to the background using a buttonhole stitch. I used Mark Lipinski's Aurifil thread in varigated gold.

Next I cut and sewed the strips.

I cut the strips into sections and sewed them together to make the blocks.

I layed out the top and stiched the blocks together.  Next I added the inner border.

Mark Lipinski's Winter's Grace Collection

So I am headed down to the quilt studio to whip up some new quilt top samples using Mark Lipinski's Winter's Grace collection.  I am excited to see them all put together.  The fabric is just gorgeous!  If you haven't had a chance to see the collection yet, head over to http://www.thequiltbear.com/ or  http://www.northcott.net/.  We have purchased the beige color collection and two patterns to kit up.

Hopefully, later today, I will post some pictures of my progress.  Stay tuned to see how they turn out!

Ad Slogans by Ben

So my son, Ben, created a bunch of ad slogans for our online quilt shop and they turned out so cute I had to share them.  I will post one per week.  They are just adorable!  This is one of my favorites...I just love the tatoo!

New Online Quilt Shop

Hello everyone! We are finally catching up to all this new technology! Our website is up and going through a facelift to help make product organization easier for our customers. Now on to our next project...blogging!

The Quilt Bear is finally a reality after many long years of waiting. If you are like me, fellow quilt ladies (and gents), and have ever been in a quilt store contemplating your next quilt project...you know the feeling of walking down each row, touching each bolt of fabric and wishing you could take them all home with you. Well starting a quilt shop is kinda like that only now I talk with fabric sales reps and try to decide from thousands of collections as to what my customers may like. It is so hard to decide, but so fun at the same time! Again, I want to take them all home with me.

Keeping things simple and fun is our goal! As one quilter to another, I know your day can be crazy busy and finding a few minutes to make it into you quilt studio (yes it is a studio) to sew may be difficult.

That's why we try to make your shopping experience hassle-free, with super fast, FREE shipping on all orders to the U.S.

Come visit us at http://www.thequiltbear.com/ and see our new collections from Batik Textiles, Benartex, Clothworks and Northcott, as well as books, patterns, notions, gifts and more!!!

Also, join us on facebook for extra discounts not available anywhere else.

We will post more soon!
